What to Wear
Our Halloween party style has changed as our kids have gotten older. We used to come to the parks dressed in costume, but now we have a little bit of a different take. Last year, us girls decided to go in athleisure (it is still HOT Aug-Oct), but styled after a Disney princess, and the boys decided to wear a fun and festive short-sleeve printed button down. It was my favorite combination of outfits for us so far! Shop our outfits: HERE or click on the collage below.

What to Expect
Magic Kingdom opens to MNSSHP ticket holders at 4 PM on the day of the party. The park closes to other guests at 7 PM, and that’s when all the Halloween fun begins! There is usually a large crowd to get in at 4 PM, so if you want to be one of the first ones in the park, try to arrive by 3:00/3:15 PM. If you have a valid ticket for Magic Kingdom or a park hopper ticket, you can of course enter earlier.
Upon entry, you will check in and be given a wristband, a map, and a bag to collect your candy/treats in.

Character Experiences:
In 2024, there were over two dozen Character Experiences available during the MNNSHP! I’ll update here as we know more about the 2025 lineup, but for now here’s a list of the most popular Character Experiences with the longest lines and their average wait times:
- Jack Skellington and Sally – 90 Minutes – 3 Hours
- Seven Dwarfs – 90 Minutes – 2 Hours
- Elvis Stitch – 45 – 90 Minutes
- Pooh & Friends – 45 – 60 Minutes
- Mirabel & Bruno – 45 – 90 Minutes
- Witch Minnie, Princess Daisy & Pumpkin Donald – 45 – 60 Minutes
- Mickey Mouse – 10 – 60 Minutes
Characters that Meet Early:
- Jack Skellington & Sally – Approx. 4:30 p.m.
- Seven Dwarfs – Approx. 6:20 p.m.
- Elvis Stitch – Approx. 6:30 p.m.
- Pooh & Friends – Approx. 6:30 p.m.
Pro Tip: If a high-demand character experience that is on your must-do list, I highly suggest you get in line for that experience as soon as the line opens – as the wait times can get quite long. An quick and easy way to find out what time your favorite character will be meeting, is to head to the area of the park where they are supposed to meet and ask a Cast Member in that area. Doing your character experiences first will get you the shortest wait times and you can spend the rest of your time taking advantage of the shorter wait time for attractions, watching the Boo to You Halloween Parade, and exploring all the Treat Trails.

Boo to You Halloween Parade:
The parade typically runs twice per night, at 8:15pm and 11:15pm. IMO, this is a can’t miss parade – I usually watch it both times! And, don’t forget to get there a little extra early and watch for the Headless Horseman to make his debut, 15-20 minutes before the parade start time.
Pro Tip 1: I have found one of the best places to watch the parade is in Frontierland. We usually stand on the porches in front of the shops, just down from Pecos Bill’s.
Pro Tip 2: if you’re looking to knock several things out at one time, stake out a spot near Cinderella‘s Castle and watch the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, the second showing of the parade, and fireworks from the same location.

Treat Trails:
With almost a dozen Treat Trails, you will be certain to leave with more candy than you know what to do with. Some of the trails are really quick and you walk through and cast members will scoop out some candy for you. Others, have character characters in the tree trails. In 2024, our favorite treat trail had Maleficent and the Evil Queen that interacted with us as we walked through the trail.
Pro Tip: If you want to leave with the maximum amount of treats, definitely bring your own bag to carry your candy in. I like these from Etsy.

Attractions:
The following are rides that were available during the 2024 party, and we expect to see the same for the 2025 party.
Adventureland:
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- Swiss Family Treehouse
Frontierland:
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
- Country Bear Jamboree
Liberty Square:
- Haunted Mansion
Fantasyland:
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
- “It’s a small world”
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Mad Tea Party (has Halloween Overlay)
- Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Storybook Circus:
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- The Barnstormer
Tomorrowland:
- Astro Orbiter
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor (Halloween Overlay)
- Space Mountain (Halloween Overlay)
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
- TRON Lightcycle Run
You can typically expect to see wait times under 20 minutes during the party and those wait times can easily go down to 5-10 minutes towards the end of the night. The exceptions are Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, TRON Lightcycle Spin, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which typically hover between 30-45 minute wait times.

Shows:
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular: Disney’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom features a live stage show. The show, held on the Cinderella Castle stage, features the Sanderson sisters from the movie Hocus Pocus, along with other Disney villains. The Sanderson sisters, with the help of other villains, create an evil Halloween party.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular: A fireworks show hosted by Jack Skellington, is part of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. The show features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy on a trick-or-treating adventure in a haunted house, where they encounter dancing skeletons, ghosts, and even some Disney villains. It’s a blend of special effects, projections, music, and of course, spectacular fireworks.

As more details come out about this year’s MNSSHP, I will add those above.
